10 BELGIAN INSTAGRAM ACCOUNTS YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO FOLLOW
If you think this lockdown has a taste of déjà vu, if you’re feeling nostalgic about your holidays at the North Sea or if you are in need of adventure in the Ardennes, don’t panic! Imagine Belgium is here to put a bit of sunshine in your lockdown life. Here’s our selection of 10 Instagram accounts you should follow to explore Belgium from the comfort of your own home.
We start this list with Aris Setya! Aris is the friend with whom you dream of going for a walk, as he knows the corners of Belgium so well. With his skilled photographer, we follow him without hesitation to discover the “flat country”. Aris made us dream with his last pictures taken this autumn, so we obviously had to count him in this article!
We know Cem well as he decided to host his first photo exhibition on Brussels at Imagine Belgium (and we’re really proud). Even if we’re not very objective, we highly recommend you have a look at his photos. He immortalizes Brussels wonderfully and we are big fans of his latest photos in the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert!
Maxime from Trekking & Voyage is our source of inspiration for amazing hikes and treks in Wallonia. His speciality? Micro-adventure! Venture in packraft in the Semois valley, learn more about bivouacs in Wallonia, and discovered the deer’s cry in the Ardennes! Maxime has just won a first prize (and probably not the last one) for his short film “Belgium Wilderness”. It is definitely an Instagram account to follow to explore Belgium!
Roadtripmetkids, that’s what we are talking about! Here are the children who take over, and take you on a journey through Belgium! We love the beautiful sights of Lien and Yasmina with their three boys. Follow their adventures, sometimes unusual, in the middle of nature and always with a touch of humour!
Thijs‘ signature pictures? Long night walks in Antwerp! When the sun goes down and the city lights come up, that’s when our photographer decides to go out. Of course, you won’t resist the charms of Antwerp by night (and also by day) at the sight of his photos.
Justine from “Ju on the Road” is one of our latest discoveries! We love her walking routes between Namur and Liège and we have already put on our travel list her walk to the Nature Reserve of Sclaigneaux, near Andenne. We can’t wait to discover her next destination!
La Bande d’aventuriers is absolutely everything we love: micro adventures to (re)discover Belgium with the family! We obviously couldn’t do this article without telling you about their Instagram account! Léo and Isaac take us with them to visit the Abbey of Villers-la-Ville, to pick leaves and mushrooms, and walk along the Ninglinspo river. How about a little Belgian escapade? Follow the guides!
Christophe, LePtitBaroudeur, we like him a lot too! Especially for his incredible photos of the Hautes Fagnes and the Aiguilles de Chaleux seen from the sky these last weeks ! His motto? “Travelling far away, close to home”: a philosophy of life that we share at Imagine Belgium.
This is THE Instagram account for four-legged travellers! Naya and Hope and their Dog-Parents (yes, that exists too) take us on a trip through Belgium. We congratulate Florence who has just finished her first solo road trip in a van with her two companions through France, Luxembourg, and Belgium. We can already guess what their favourite place was: the Fondry des Chiens of course (okay, that was an easy one)!
Kristien, writer and Greetje, photographer, are two mothers that we love very much! And we also love their book full of tips for travelling with children in Belgium. It’s a real little travel guide that they make us discover on their Instagram account for 100% Belgian adventures. Mention plus for their offbeat style that we love!
Want to see more? So do we! Then we recommend you to follow the accounts of Bouchta, EllesBxl, Everything Brussels or Deandjkim for Brussels lovers. And we recommend you without hesitation to follow the accounts of So&Bia, Baroudeurs Liégeois and so many others to enlighten your lockdown with beautiful Belgian discoveries!
What about you? What are your favourite Instagram accounts for travelling to Belgium from home?
